Networks and Communications - an overview of the essentials of communications between systems. Much of the data upon which decisions are made has come from elsewhere: how has it come from there and what assurances exist that it is valid and unadulterated. The passing of information and messages between computers and systems across the Internet is largely unseen and as such poses a significant risk. This unit reviews networking, and the internet, as well as devices such as routers and gateways and where they fit into the communications web. HI203-06 must be completed prior to enrolment in this course.
